Luz AI, Privacy & Spiritual Safety

Last updated: June 26, 2026 · Español

At Luz, we want to help you pray, reflect, and feel spiritually accompanied in your daily life. We believe technology can be a helpful tool when used with humility, transparency, and respect. Ask Luz is an AI spiritual companion. It does not replace God, faith, discernment, clergy, communities, therapy, medical care, or emergency support.

What Ask Luz can do

What Ask Luz is not

Ask Luz is not God, a priest, pastor, spiritual director, therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, or an emergency service. It cannot hear confession, absolve, speak for God, predict the future, or tell you for certain what God wants. For serious matters of faith, health, emotions, money, or law, please speak with a trusted person, a qualified professional, or a faith leader.

Your faith profile

Luz personalizes your experience based on the faith profile you choose: Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical, Christian, spiritual, or exploring. This helps Luz suggest prayers, reflections, and practices that are more respectful and relevant. You can change it in Settings; when you do, Luz updates your prayers, reflections, sources, and responses.

Privacy and sensitive information

Prayer and spiritual reflection are deeply personal, and religious beliefs are sensitive data. Please avoid sharing private details you would not want stored, such as full names of other people, addresses, or medical, legal, or financial information. Your conversations with Ask Luz are not stored. We never sell your prayer data, your faith profile, or your intentions. We review any third-party service we use to protect your privacy.

AI transparency

When content is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence, we label it clearly, for example: "AI-created prayer." Ask Luz always identifies itself as an AI guide, not a person, and it can make mistakes.

Safety and crisis

Ask Luz is not an emergency service. If you might hurt yourself, hurt someone else, or are in immediate danger, please get help now. In the U.S. you can call or text 988, or call 911. In other countries, call your local emergency number. We use automated systems to detect messages involving self-harm, violence, or danger, and in those cases Ask Luz puts your safety before any spiritual content.

Your control

You can delete your intentions and prayers inside the app, and delete your account and all your data from Settings, under Delete account.

Feedback

Ask Luz is new, and we are still learning. If something feels inaccurate, insensitive, confusing, or not aligned with your faith, we want to know. Write to us at imdavidramos@gmail.com.
